About Psara

Psara is located 44 nautical miles or 81 kilometers northwest of the island of Chios, approximately 22 kilometers or 13 nautical miles from the northwestern point of the island of Chios and approximately 150 kilometers or 75 nautical miles northeast of Athens, the capital of Greece. The length and width of the island is approximately 7 x 8 kilometers while the total surface area is 43 km². The highest point of the island is "Profitis Ilias" (512 metres or 1,680 ft).
The town of Psara provides an array of tourist facilities ranging from cafés, mini markets to long established Greek taverns, allowing guests to take pleasure in the local Greek culture and the traditional Mediterranean Diet. Key products of the island include fresh fish (primarily octopus, lobster and squid - kalamari), honey, local cheeses, spoon sweets, and farm grown fruits and vegetables.
